The position of the tip will also affect how long the nose appears to be. Rotation,
shown by the red arrow, describes how up-turned, or down turned a nose is. Up-turned
or noses with high rotation appear shorter. Noses with less rotation appear longer.
Looking at these two noses, the woman on the left has a more upturned nose. Her tip
is more rotated so her nose appears short. The woman on the right is less up-turned she
is less rotated, her nose appears longer. During surgery rotation of the nose can be
changed to give the proper balance to the nose.
"When I needed a surgeon to repair damaged cartilage from a former
rhinoplasty, experience taught me to search for a doctor that had three
skills: ability and patience to communicate with me; technical expertise
and of course, artistry.
Dr. Siegel spoke with me each time I called. He explained each option
patiently. Had he not listened empathically, it is likely I would not
have
gone through with the surgical revision.
I was that afraid of all the "what if's." The results speak for
themselves.
I invite anyone seeking nose surgery to ask me about my experience and see
how, in skilled hands, technical know-how and artistry work together to
solve what was a major challenge for doctor and patient alike."
