LATISSE™ is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis, the medical term used to describe an inadequate amount of eyelashes. With a nightly application of LATISSE™, eyelash growth is stimulated resulting in thicker, fuller, and darker eyelashes. LATISSE™ is the first and only eyelash growth treatment to be approved by the FDA as being safe and effective.
Eyelash Enhancement Results
Results with LATISSE™ are gradual and usually become noticeable after 2 months. Individual results may vary. Patients must continue the use of LATISSE™ to maintain results. Once treatment is discontinued, your eyelashes will eventually return to their normal length and thickness.
How LATISSE™ Works
The exact method of how LATTISSE™ works is unknown; however, it is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways.
- Increase the length of the eyelash growth phase
- Increase the number of hairs in the eyelash growth phase
Is LATISSE™ Right for You?
As with any prescription drug, you should not use LATISSE™ if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
LATISSE™ is an excellent way to treat hypotrichosis for appropriate patients. If you feel your eyelashes are not very noticeable without the heavy application of makeup, you may be an excellent candidate.
Or if you have experienced any of the following conditions, speak to your doctor before using LATISSE™:
- Previously diagnosed with eye pressure problems
- Currently taking medications for eye pressure problems
- Have risk factors for glaucoma
LATISSE™ EyeEnhancementis Easy to Use
LATISSE™ is applied nightly to your upper eyelids after your face has been cleaned and eye makeup and contacts have been removed. Contacts can be worn within 15 minutes after application. Using the supplied sterile applicators, a small amount of solution is placed across the skin of the upper eyelid at the base of the eyelashes from the inner to the outer part. Only one dose of LATISSE™ should be applied daily. If you forget to apply a dose do not double up the next day.
