Liquid Face-lift Overview

What Is a Liquid Face-Lift?

A liquid face-lift is the process of using liquid fillers to restore a youthful look. As we age, our bodies stop producing collagen, causing our skin to lose elasticity. Environmental factors and stress affect our skin, causing wrinkles and lines to become more visible. By injecting areas with wrinkle-correcting injections like Botox or Juvederm, you can have the youthful look of a face-lift without the surgical side effects.

Liquid Face-Lift vs. Traditional Face-Lift

A liquid face-lift is a much less invasive procedure. Patients receive a series of injections to fill in the lines and wrinkles right in the office. There is no need for a trip to the hospital. The procedure is relatively painless, and the effects are almost immediate. Traditional face-lifts are full surgical procedures. They require a hospital stay and recovery time, not to mention a lot more pain. While the effects of a traditional face-lift might last longer, a liquid face-lift requires maintenance appointments to keep the youthful appearance.

Cost

While Elective surgery may provide a superior, and longer lasting result than a Liquid Facelift, it is more costly, So a good candidate for this procedure may opt for a Liquid face-lift, making it easier to fit in a budget. The exact price of the treatment will depend on the amount of injections needed to complete the face-lift and the areas of the injections. Still, the cost will still be significantly lower than surgery.

How Long Does a Liquid Face-Lift Last?

The effects of a liquid face-lift are different for each person. Often, desired results are evident after just one treatment session, while other people might need a couple of sessions to achieve their desired results. Botox starts working immediately upon injection but can take a few days or even weeks to achieve the result. Typically, the combination of filler treatments can last up to two years, though some people may achieve the best results with a follow-up session. Follow-up treatments should happen before all the effects wear off to continue your body’s natural collagen-building response. The combination of treatment fillers also helps the effects last for a longer period.

What to Expect During a Liquid Face-Lift

A liquid face-lift happens right in the office. Patients start with a consultation appointment to discuss treatment goals and desires. Together with Dr Siegel, you will create a personalized plan for your face-lift. During your procedure, the doctor applies a topical anesthetic to the area, numbing it for the injections. Each injection is over in a matter of seconds, meaning the entire procedure takes less than an hour. After injections, Dr Siegel may massage the area to make sure the distribution of the injection is even throughout. The results should appear almost immediately but will continue to increase over the next few days to a week.

Risks of a Liquid Face-Lift

There are not many risks associated with a liquid face-lift. For the most part, you may experience minor swelling of the injection site or slight bruising. In very rare cases, patients may experience anaphylactic shock from an allergic reaction, a blocked blood vessel, drooping eyelids, or headaches. If you experience any symptoms, be sure to consult your doctor for a follow-up.

Dr Siegel is a Facial Plastic Surgeon, this gives him an expert knowledge on facial structures, allowing him to minimize complications and create natural enhancements by knowing how much and where exactly to inject the right filler

Not all injectors have the same credentials, experience or artistry, and while this is not a surgical procedure, it is still a medical procedure, and the results depend on these qualities of your injector, not the filler being injected.

The majority of injectors, not only be not be highly skilled facial specialist, but may have very limited experience performing this procedures or may be doing them on a part time basis. It requires not only an eye for balance, but also years to achieve the mastery of injection skills-this will make the difference between a natural and more youthful appearance, as opposed to the overly filled and in-natural look associated with poorly executed injections.
