Lower blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed on the lower eyelids to correct sagging skin, bags, and wrinkles.

The procedure addresses the skin, fat, and muscle of the lower eyelids. Depending on the patient, the goal of removing or preserving any of these structures is to create a smoother, more youthful appearance. The procedure can be performed under local, twilight, or general anesthesia, and typically takes between 1-2 hours to complete.

Recovery time following lower blepharoplasty varies, but most patients are able to return to normal activities within a week or two, with results becoming visible after a few days.

With what is known as scarless surgery, Dr. Siegel can perform your full procedure from inside the eyelid skin, giving you a scarless result.

Traditional lower eyelid surgery often removed too much fat, creating a hollow appearance. Dr. Siegel’s novel approach to lower eyelid surgery involves transposing or moving fat from areas that have excess fat to areas that appear hollow. This volume-preservation approach creates youthful contours and a rejuvenated appearance.

Houston facial surgery specialist Dr. Michel Siegel performs lower eyelid surgery that restores the smoothness and natural energy to your eyes, your face, and the image you project to others and to yourself.
