What should you expect during a mini facelift?
A mini facelift can be performed in Dr. Siegel’s office in Houston or as an outpatient procedure, according your comfort level with anesthesia: local, twilight sedation, or general anesthesia.
During your mini facelift, a small s-shaped incision will be made around the ears’ natural creases and in the hairline area. This type of incision results in only imperceptible scars. Dr. Siegel’s unique technique allows him then to reposition – not pull – the skin, fat tissue, and loose muscles as one unit to re-establish the youthful appearance on the mid-to-lower third of the face. That process smooths out the first signs of gravity, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds, and restores one’s youthful and well-defined jawline. A mini facelift is not a “one size fits all” procedure: Dr. Siegel will customize your mini facelift to meet your specific needs and goals.
Why Choose Dr. Michel Siegel for your mini facelift?
Your mini facelift can produce beautifully natural results – when performed by a talented, experienced surgeon. Dr. Michel Siegel is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who is widely regarded in Houston and beyond as a specialist. Dr. Siegel’s under-the-muscle technique (only practiced by about 5% of surgeons) rotates skin, fat and muscle as one unit. This obviates the need to separate the skin from its underlying structures. The result is less swelling and bruising. Most patients only require about 5 days to look and feel ready to go out and resume normal activities. Perhaps best of all, this repositioning of tissues restores the loss of facial volume, and prevents the tight or wind-swept appearance so commonly associated with (bad or mediocre) facelifts.
Dr. Siegel believes a successful facelift is one that nobody knows you had. His skill, expertise, and artistry will ensure that you leave with a youthful, rejuvenated and balanced look that is just right for you.
Are you a good candidate for a mini facelift?
Gravitational changes begin in our early 30s and become more evident around the early 40s. Skin and deeper tissues begin to droop on the face and neck. These changes usually appear as jowls, the loss of a crisp jawline, the formation of marionette lines at the corner of the mouth, and the creation of nasolabial folds, running from the corner of the nose to the mouth. Under the chin, a “turkey neck” and bands may develop.
If you are bothered by these changes, you may be a good candidate for Dr. Siegel’s mini-facelift. Also, many patients in their forties begin to develop “filler fatigue” or “laser fatigue.” Though those treatments may have countered the very early signs of aging in our 30s, they usually fail to deliver results in our 40s, requiring more treatments that escalate costs, while delivering unnatural and distorted results. A mini-facelift may be less expensive, and may be a more-natural option for facial rejuvenation.
What are the benefits of a mini facelift?
- Natural-looking
- Minimal scarring
- Shorter recovery time
- Less pain
- Lower cost
- Performed without general anesthesia
Will a mini facelift leave visible scars?
The incisions used for a mini facelift are placed meticulously in natural creases and folds to ensure they are not visible. Dr. Siegel’s under-the-muscle approach eliminates all skin tension – the main reason for scar development – which will ensure that after your mini-facelift you can still wear your hair up without any concerns of visible scars.

Why get a mini facelift?
Women in their early to mid 40s often realize the geometry of their face has started shifting from oval to square, as the definition on the jawline and neck begins to fade with the descent of tissue creating jowls and a turkey neck. Re-establishing a smooth jawline can be done in about 90 minutes and can restore the oval appearance associated with a youthful face.
While Dr. Siegel can execute fillers with great success to camouflage the very early signs of aging in the mid face (cheek area), fillers do not lift the sagging tissue of the lower face, such as jowls. Upon reaching their early 40s most patients experience “filler fatigue”: more and more filler required to achieve the desired effect, which not only is not attainable by over-filling the face, but also distorts the natural facial contours. In Dr. Siegel’s assessment, the various energy devices that claim to “lift” sagging tissues with radiofrequency, ultrasound, or other forms of energy require too many treatments that in the end do not yield any significant improvements.
Dr. Siegel’s mini facelift procedure can be performed in about 90 minutes, under local or twilight sedation. Recovery is quick: most patients are “public ready” in about 5 days, and they look and feel refreshed.
